This weekend Lavenlair Farm’s in Whitehall NY celebrated the holiday with their 5th annual holiday open house. Lavenlair Farm grows thousands of lavender plants for fragrant and culinary use on their organic farm just a short drive from Lake George, NY. Along with sampling and purchasing products they also offered a tour the main level of their 200 year old stone farmhouse all decorated in a lavender Christmas theme.
A View from Lavenlair Farm
Lavenlair Farm sits on a piece of land overseeing the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont and the Adirondacks, the view alone is a gorgeous sight to see.
A Lavender Holiday Open House
As you stepped into the farmhouse the smell of lavender filled the air.
Dozens of lavender bunches were hanging from the wood beams to dry, a very cool sight to see!
Owner’s David and Diane Allen were friendly, welcoming and offered delicious samples of each of their lavender products for everyone to try.
What makes Lavenlair Farm unique? Lavenlair Farm is always a work in progress. Since 2013 David and Diane have planted thousands of lavender plants all over the property and also built a “Laverinth” a 100ft diameter, lavender planted, Petit-Chartres meditative labyrinth. They now have over 30 different varieties of lavender on the farm. All of their lavender products are 100% organic, they do not use ANY pesticides or chemicals on their plants. In the summertime people can visit the farm to pick their own lavender, take a tour or even host a wedding or special event.
Fragrant Culinary Gifts for your Holiday
A true labor of love! Lavenlair Farm makes a wide variety of fragrant and culinary lavender products including maple syrup, honey, culinary lavender, lavender infused olive oil, lavender infused balsamic oil, jam, dried lavender vases, sachets, soap, lip balm, lavender essential oil, lavender putty, and more! The open house did a great job at showcasing all of the products they have to offer.
Even the gift bags were lavender themed. Lavenlair Farm’s products make great gifts and stocking stuffers for the holidays. If you were unable to attend the open house you can learn more about Lavenlair Farm and purchase their products online at www.lavenlairfarm.com.
